Eastern Idaho Technical College, also known as EITC, is a regional technical college located in Idaho Falls in the state of Idaho. The school was founded in 1969.Among the divisions offered by the school include: Health Professions including health trades and the health Industry,General Education, Business, Office and Technology. Eastern Idaho Technical College also offers courses in GED testing, adult basic education, and workforce training.
EITC was originally called the Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical School. But when it received Northwest Accreditation in 1982, it changed its name so that it would become eligible for federal aid programs. The school offers at least 2 years of college for associate degrees and certification, but it also has a transfer program that can allow students to continue their education with 4-year colleges and complete their degree. The school also features several certificate programs that would allow their students to join the workforce immediately after graduating.
The school currently has an average student body of around 700 students per term, with a little over 500 of them being part time students. Among the services offered by the school includes remedial classes for students with learning disabilities or handicaps, academic and career counseling for graduating students, and employment services for current students for part-time positions.
The mission of the school is to provide technical training programs that will prepare their students to be successful when they graduate. The education that they provide can be only one class to upgrade their work skills or up to 2 years to get an associate’s degree. The school wants their graduates to be successful in their workplace and provide their work with high training that they were able to get with the school. EITC also strives to be up to date with the current technological and academic advances in the industry in order to provide their students with the education that they need.
